National Ice Cream Competition

Hocking’s ice cream has been awarded many diplomas by the Ice Cream Alliance over the years, winning their first Diploma of Merit in 1953. We have lost count of the number of Special Diplomas and Diplomas that have been awarded to us over the years but the number is well into the 100’s now. However, we will always remember our two Bronze medals for our Vanilla in the National Ice Cream Competition. The first in Birmingham 2005, and the second at Harrogate in 2011.

In 2023 we received our first ever Gold medal for our industry pioneering Biscotti flavoured ice cream. Christian decided to try and emulate the taste of some very popular caramelised biscuits that were starting to take the UK by storm, and with the help of lots of staff tastebuds created a winning formula! The trend grew and the following year the flavour had its own competition class all together, and Christian was asked to be the lead judge.
